About Dr. Bill Wheat
I love my job, my community, and my state. I am very passionate about helping people. My entire adult life has been dedicated to community service and making things better for the people of Ponchatoula, Hammond, and the Northshore area. I believe that “getting involved and doing something” is better than “talking about doing something.”
I have lived up to these ideals. As a business owner and veterinarian for 40 years, bonding with clients and helping with their pets has been beyond amazing and gratifying. As director of Ponchatoula Area Recreation Park, helping kids and parents has been a truly rewarding experience. As State Representative for District 73, helping so many people and working on important issues for our community and our state has been an honor and a privilege.
As your State Senator from District 37, I will continue to dedicate the same energy and work ethic to every project I take on, and I will be your voice in Baton Rouge. As a husband, parent, and grandparent, I understand the challenges we are facing in our state today and realize the courage needed to address them.
I look forward to working with the people of Senate District 37 and welcome your input.
